a modern measure
Wine has always represented more than what fills a glass.
It marks celebration. It gathers people around a table. It stretches lunches into afternoons and turns ordinary moments into ceremonies we remember long after they have passed.
We never wanted to change that.
A Modern Measure began with the belief that the ritual of wine should honour both the occasion and the person experiencing it.
Our wines were created for the woman who refuses to choose between pleasure and presence.
She appreciates exceptional wine, beautiful food and meaningful conversation. She values the ritual of the table just as much as the life waiting beyond it.
This collection was built on two simple beliefs.
That caring for ourselves should never require withdrawing from the things that make life beautiful.
And that no woman should ever have to choose between pleasure and presence.
Five percent alcohol was never chosen as a compromise.
It was chosen with intention by design.
Enough to honour the craftsmanship of wine. Enough to preserve its complexity, generosity and gentle warmth that make wine what it is. Measured carefully enough to leave room for everything that follows—a clear morning, an ambitious afternoon, a long walk, travel, work, another celebration, movement, motherhood, a dinner with family, and the countless moments that make up a full life.
Because measure has never meant limitation.
It has always meant intention.
Replacing destruction with intentional ceremony.
That has always been the beginning.
Luxury has always reflected the values of its time.
Once, it was measured by abundance.
Today, we believe the modern expression of luxury is peace, clarity, alignment, and intention — the new markers of real luxury.
With quality over quantity.
In beautiful things that are made to be savoured rather than for consumption.
In waking grateful for the evening before, ready to embrace everything the day has waiting for you.
In conversations remembered in full.
In leaving the moments as nourished as when you arrived.
In choosing presence as often as pleasure and discovering they were never meant to exist apart.
In lingering at the table because you choose to, not because you've lost yourself in the moment.
Because wellbeing isn't separate from living well; it is what allows us to experience every beautiful part of life more deeply.
Luxury is no longer about having more to enjoy. It is about being present enough to enjoy what you already have.
A Modern Measure is a collection of thoughtfully crafted 5% wines, sourced from some of South Australia's most celebrated wine regions, including McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.
Each wine begins exactly where exceptional wine should—with quality fruit, thoughtful craftsmanship, and deep respect for the winemaking process. Gently reduced to 5% alcohol, they retain the flavour, structure, and character expected of premium Australian wine while offering a different way to experience the ritual.
Though fine wines are often remembered for their tasting notes, the beauty of wine has always been written in the moments it accompanies. Its true measure is found in the moments it accompanies, the conversations it inspires, the celebrations it quietly honours, the beautifully set tables it graces, and the memories that linger long after the final glass is poured. It is these moments that inspired every wine in the collection.
The Modern Measure collection brings together three distinct expressions, each inspired by the rhythm of a beautifully lived day.
The Fifth Hour — a Grenache for conversations that deepen as afternoon drifts into evening.
The Long Lunch — a Grenache Rosé created for sunlit tables, shared meals, and celebrations that refuse to watch the clock.
The Terrace — a Chardonnay inspired by slower moments, crisp air, and the quiet confidence of choosing presence.
Created for the woman who appreciates beautiful food, meaningful conversation, exceptional wine, and the quiet luxury of remaining fully present as the evening unfolds, A Modern Measure belongs on beautifully set tables, thoughtful restaurant lists, weekends away, intimate dinners, and in moments of generous gifting. Never intended to feel like an alternative, it was created to honour the ritual of wine with greater intention, clarity, and care—for those who believe pleasure and presence belong at the same table.
